We are sharing our favorite things to do and eat in the Hudson Valley for you to enjoy while you are here!
There are some fun articles about the Hudson Valley including this one. Until recently, we lived in Hudson which is a great town to spend the day in. We recommend going to one of the spots here and walking along Warren, the town’s main street. Make sure to take some of the side streets to see the beautiful and well preserved Victorian houses too,
If you love researching the history of towns we recommend checking this article out about the historic whaling industry that started Hudson.
Rivertown Lodge - Hudson
We used to live right next door and often would come for dinner or to have a late-night glass of wine and chocolate mousse. The food is excellent and it’s a great brunch spot.
Enjoy their patio and an Aperol spritz or head over for a nightcap in their cozy, twin peaks’esque bar.
Feast and Floret - Hudson
We come here often and we always order the same thing. The bolognese and the chicken Milanese with a salad and red wine. We’ve spent birthdays, Christmas eve, and other special occasions at this spot. In the winter, when they have the fire roaring, it’s particularly charming.
The Maker - Hudson
Lovely interiors, thoughtfully designed. The greenhouse is a wonderful place to have lunch. Their wood-paneled, moody bar is perfect for drinks!
Art Omi - Ghent
Art Omi is an arts center situated on 120 acres in New York’s Hudson Valley, featuring the Sculpture & Architecture Park, Newmark Gallery, five distinct residency programs, and arts education for all ages. Really wonderful trails to walk on!
The Antique Warehouse - Hudson
You could lose yourself in this space. 30,000 feet of antiques!!! We’ve furnished our home with many things from here.
Cafe Mutton - Hudson
Come here for the buttery, maple syrup crepes and their loaded bloody Mary.
When summer rolls around their tomato sandwich is our favorite thing to get.
Lil Deb’s - Hudson
You want a vibe?? Come here. This is the order: Whole Fish, make sure you get all the sides, ask for extra sauce. We love the yuca fries. If they have ceviche, order it too! You can share a pitcher of the Garden Orgy or one of their other great cocktails. The music is always bumping. Definitely reserve ahead, especially if you are going as a larger party.
Lasting Joy - Tivoli
This brewery is only 5 minutes from our house so we often come here for a glass of wine or beer. On Friday and the weekend, they have food trucks. A great spot for a big group of people.
Stissing House - Pine Plains
One of our absolute favorite restaurants in the Hudson Valley. A bit further from Tivoli but worth the drive. Candlit dinners, fantastic martinis, oysters, the delicious scallops. We love it here so much and hope you love it too!
The Hereafter - Hudson
Come here for an afternoon snack, a solo book read at the bar, a nightcap. Really, anything!
Mel The Bakery - Hudson
We come here almost every weekend. All of the pastries are sourdough based and they are insanely delicious! The coffee is great too. We like stopping here and then walking around Warren St.
The Hudson Ferry - Hudson
We love the Hudson Ferry! They have wonderful tours of the river. We did the sunset tour last summer and it’s so fun. They sell some drinks on board but you can also byob.
