Our Story
2019
We went on our first date at Dynaco in Bed-Stuy on December 1st. At the end of the night, as Annie walked Daisy home, we realized we lived on opposite ends of the same block.
2020
On our third date, we booked an Airbnb Upstate on a tipsy whim, this was just the beginning of our love for being up there together. Then COVID hit. We formed a unit, helping each other through those difficult months, and keeping each other sane in our 500-square-foot apartments. In May, we visited Martha’s Vineyard, and over a pound of lobster on Menemsha Beach, we confessed we were in love. In September, Daisy spent a month in Germany, and we realized we never wanted to be apart again. Later that year, Daisy lost her job due to the pandemic and found immense support in Annie to navigate the next chapter in her life.
In late November we took our first plane ride together, double-masked in KN95s, and traveled to Northern California where Annie would meet some of the most important people to Daisy. We started in Alameda, San Francisco, and Berkeley and made our way down Route 1 to Big Sur. We stayed the night there and celebrated 1 year together.

In January, Daisy and her cat, Pendleton, moved in with Annie in her 1 bedroom Bed-Stuy apartment. Annie set up a small office for Daisy in her kitchen next to the refrigerator and behind the washer/dryer. We soon concocted a plan to find a new apartment together once Annie’s lease ended in May. Shortly after, we spent six peaceful weeks together at Daisy’s grandfather’s home in Martha’s Vineyard during the dead of winter. We fell in love with the off-season there, developing a deep appreciation for the close-knit community and winter landscapes. Friends visited towards the end of the trip, making it even more special. In February, we became domestic partners, so that Daisy could take Annie to visit Germany with her, and so that Daisy could join Annie’s health insurance. We celebrated, just the two of us, with $4 dumplings and a bottle of Pet Nat in the park in Chinatown, NY. A few days later our friends made us feel so loved at our neighborhood wine bar, Rhodora. In May, we moved into an apartment in Fort Greene, right by the park, with a lovely backyard. That summer, we embarked on an incredible adventure, traveling to Berlin, Weinheim, Basel, and the South of France.
While on the trip, a job opportunity for Daisy came up in Martha’s Vineyard, and we spent the next 2 years between there and Brooklyn.
When we returned to Fort Greene, our backyard had overgrown into a jungle. We weeded through it, planted perennials, and transformed it into a sacred space for us and those we love.

In March, Pendleton passed away suddenly. It was devastating and we are so thankful to our friends and family who helped us through his loss. By July, we welcomed Bobo into our lives, filling our home with joy. Our backyard became the center of countless summer gatherings with friends and family.
In September Annie got covid for the first time and we quarantined miserably (and successfully) to ensure Daisy wouldn’t get sick and miss our good friend’s wedding. In October, we decided to leave NYC and follow our dream of moving Upstate. Just two days later on a trip up, celebrating Annie’s birthday, we found an apartment right on Warren Street in Hudson. In November, we traveled to Mexico City, which was the first time we were both there. We saw our friends get married and adventured through the vibrant city, exploring architecture and eating the best tacos.
By December, we packed up and moved to start our new lives in Hudson, NY. Annie and Daisy’s moms came together and stayed the whole weekend helping them unpack and feel at home.

The third-floor apartment opened up in our building just months after settling in. Annie was reluctant to move twice in one year, but Daisy had a vision and Annie trusted it, so we moved from the second-floor apartment to one on the third floor—it had a patio! We created a home, hosted family and friends, and spent time discovering the beauty of the Hudson Valley, building a community together.
In May, Annie completed her Master’s program and Daisy surprised her by inviting close friends for a weekend in Martha’s Vineyard.
2024
On March 1, Daisy proposed to Annie at the top of Artist Rock, with absolutely incredible 360-degree views of the Hudson Valley. We hiked in, not a person in sight, with a bottle of champagne, and mortadella sandwiches. That evening we went to Inness where Annie proposed to Daisy with the ring she had already had made months earlier. Later that month, we put an offer on a house—it was rejected, but the process helped us get our paperwork in order. In May, Annie found our house on Zillow late one night. The next day, we saw it and immediately saw a future in the space, and made an offer within two hours. After some tumultuous back and forth, we couldn’t believe it was accepted. In June, Daisy co-launched her interior design firm, Chimera Design. In July, we signed the papers, got the keys, and began immediate repairs—mold remediation, roof repairs—it was nonstop from that moment.
In August, we moved in, sleeping in one room with all our belongings while working tirelessly to make the house livable. By October, it had truly become our home. Daisy’s Instagram highlights share that journey. In early October, we hosted a launch party at the house to celebrate Chimera’s debut, pushing hard to have the space ready for our guests. In November, we celebrated Thanksgiving with old and new friends.
In December, we hosted both Daisy’s and Annie’s families, all at the same time, for a truly special and loving holiday season in our new home
